hello guys,
Real quick this time. I'm sorry I didn't do anything this week. I also didn't make 2 videos and made 2 new tutorials and I didn't update my first post. I PROMISE I will do that this week. But I'm sorry didn't do anything this week see you guys next week =) So let's see this week as a quick dip in the project.

This is what I wrote throughout the week:

Internet music industry
Can't find the source. But the main idea off the topic: Buying and streaming songs on the internet isn't helping the music industry. And even while allot of people buy songs online I can't imagine a world were the internet "market" is helping the music industry ("market").

In some countries downloading is legal.
There is no system that pays only the artists. Yes I want to give 100% of my money to the artists. Not 30% to iTunes.... (apple hater ^.^)
If I'm going to buy a album I go to a store and not buying it online. What is the fun of buying 010101011101101? Instead of a CD with a cool cover that you could lay down in your closet. Same story with online books. I want a book in my hand not a screen were I could scroll down for the next page.
Why should I go to itunes.com and not to keepvid.com and get my music from YouTube?

Yeah Samsung Galaxy S II but serious Samsung?

Samsung Galaxy S II =). But than this. Serious? A mobile phone with a projector? (I wrote this later than the "PS vita" paragraph so that's why I'm saying this about it.) But the PS vita has all the new technology you want (and works). These futures are really handy. But a projector? It sounds cool but if you think about it? 1. The battery of a mobile phone isn't great at all! 2. Where do you have a nice smooth wall in you home? That also has a bank in front of it and is at least a few meters away from you (otherwise you don't have a big projection on the wall). I don't. And I think almost nobody has. So Samsung: why? You have such nice products but this is stupid?

PS vita

Source. I loved my psp so if I'll buy this thing I would love it too! And I think this is a great product to show how smart and small things get. I'm not talking about specs (Isn't it as good as a ps3?) but even the whole technology in it.

Front and rear camera - I think in the future this device will have Skype so than this functionality becomes really handy.
Motion sensor - Everyone likes iPhone apps were you shake your iPhone to control the game. And now this PS vita will have this function too. And the psp had already "small" games (I'm not sure about the name) but 10 euros games that are really small but fun. It's something like apps on your mobile phone. So now you have big games and small games and maybe because of the PS vita XXL-small games. 0.79 games like doodle jump? I would love to see that future. And overall the motion sensor could be fun for big games.
Touchscreen - WHOOAA! Finally you not limited by the buttons of the device. A "button" that isn't physical on your device could appear on the screen now. This will enable so many futures in games that are sometimes "un-game able" on the psp because of the limited buttons and weird button combinations. And it may have some cool futures in mini games (example above).
Rear touch - It's something new and I don't raelly get the benefits. But for some games like little deviants it's funny.
GPS - Speaks for itself.
3G - That's the part I don't get. 3G is fun for your mobile phone to check some Facebook statuses without pictures. But gaming with 16 others isn't going to work. So why Sony?

All in all I think this device has all the 2011/2012 futures of any mobile phone + more. And that's why I think this isn't only made for gaming but social things too. I would buy it if I still was a gamer. But I'm not gaming anymore so no 250 euros for something I won't use...

Privacy settings for every iPhone app

And again I can't find the source. But the main idea: You have to enable / disable privacy settings for every iPhone app in the future. And this is ~~good~~ for people that like allot of privacy but for people that doesn't give a .... it's annoying!!! This is almost the only thing I hate about Blackberry that I have to change all these settings for every app. I have to enable / disable 20 things before I can use the app and it's annoying! And I don't even know what all these 20 things do so I always enables it. But it would be annoying if I also have to choose all these settings for every iPhone app. So open letter to Apple: If you going use this system in the future make a menu where you can enable "Always accept privacy settings for every app." so I don't have to care every single time to enable / disable privacy things. And an open letter to Blackberry: "Add that future too!"

Stupid laptop

Yup, "Consider replacing the battery". But I'm not going to do that because of 2 reasons. 1. it's 100 euros for a new battery! 2. I'm not using my laptop without the charger that many times. But it still sucks because I only have this laptop for 2 year now. And I'm not kidding 2 years. Just 1 month after the warranty and the battery dies. But isn't that fast either? 2 years and my battery dies? Normally I could use my laptop 4 - 5 hours without recharging it. Now I only can use my laptop for 45 minutes so I think this warning message is right xD. But it still sucks. I even thought that this was "unnatural" fast so I asked if this was normal on a computer forum. They said "You shouldn't recharge your battery the whole time when it is 100%." and that part really sucks. Because when I bought this thing they said "Always recharge it, try to avoid using only the battery." But luckily I can still use it and go further with my project =).

Wow, this blog is 1 year old. I'm working on this project for 1 year now. In 1 year I learned html, css, javascript, php, mysql and edited 1 website for (now) 300 euro's and learned how to get traffic (this blog is actually 1 big "how to get traffic" experiment) and so much more! And even if this project isn't going to be that successful as I'm thinking now I don't care. With the skills I learned this year I could do so much. (in theory) I could quit school and build website's for living. Wow it's so unbelievable. But there is some sad news now. This blog isn't going to be that big either. I know I promised last week but this week nothing happened in tech world. So I can't talk about some topics that I think are important to blog about because there aren't.

1 year of learning and you know where to blog about
So I normally say for fun I'm working on my seo and marketing etc. But this week, jeees! I made a list of highly discussed topics to blog about (I told you guys). So this week 2 tutorials. "How to install wahtsapp on your ipod" and "How to improve your iphone battery" and BAM! That second one is going nuts! I posted it Thursday and it's already one of my most viewed blog posts. And I even haven't make a video! So if I put that video live on YouTube this blog may get noticed xD I'm not kidding, if this blog post is already read so many times it will be a success on YouTube. And my 2 other video's are already watched 60 times each. So this video will sure hit the 150 views in a week. So I think I can prove by this that I know what seo and marketing is =)

The bitch was dirty
(this is a little "introduction" for this topic but also allot off-topic things, if you want to skip the nonsense go to "The bitch was dirty (2)") I'm not sure about the title of this blog and this paragraph but it's all about the seo again. I noticed that my last blog "cleaning like a woman" was found because of the woman part. So if I use this language in my titles this blog posts may is leaning on the succes of the woman again. Although it may isn't that good either because it may will be not displayed in some "super safe" search engines. And coming back on the "although" thing I use "although" allot because I didn't know another word for it. So I learned some other "although" words with the same meaning. And because of that I hope this blog post is more "flexible". The bitch was dirty (2) So this paragraph is about the "cleaning da code" again. I told you guys some things I did last week to clean the code and make it a little bit faster. But this week it wasn't about cleaning the code in the way of less code and making notes to understand the code. No, this week was more about the optimize and speeding up the code. I can talk about this with a long story but I thought instead of doing that I'm just going to line up all the things I did.

Using '' instead of ""
Using 'hello ',$name,' =)' instead of 'hello '.$name.' =)'
Count an array before a while loop
Using mysqli instead of mysql
Using $row['name'] instead of $name = $row['name'] (so delete all unnecessary variables)

And more but I can't think off it now. But if there is a big tip I didn't gave now I will blog it next week.

Apps make people dumb

A topic that doesn't involves my project. But I'm a blogger so I can write what ever I like =). But don't you guys think apps on your smartphone makes people dumb? Like people say stupid things "I don't like Blackberry because there aren't such many apps like an iphone has". So what? As long as you mobile phone has a browser it could do everything a iphone is capable of doing. And that's one of the things I want to create this social network with apps. So I will make people realize that there is something that's called the World Wide Web. Because why do you want to buy an iphone so you could install these "fart" apps for 0.79 euro. While you can find million of different sounds on the internet for free. And look at the Facebook app for the iphone. It's exactly the same as the m.Facebook. And not only the iphone destroys the internet with their apps. It's also destroying the photo industry. There are so many people taking pictures with their iphone of the most important happenings in their live. Why would you take a picture with such bad camera? You don't have to buy a SRL but a 120 euro canon power shot is nice. It's even better because you don't want to buy a SRL if you not interest in the core of photography. But the statement I want to make is that the smartphone is making people so dumb. They forget about the World Wide Web where everything is free (unlike apps) and people forget about the quality pictures can have with a cheap camera (and not a mobile phone). Quick example. That dude in the background is filming / taking photo's with his ipad. WHAT!? At such nice place and such nice day you don't take pictures with a 2mp camera 300x240 (nerd humor). So please people buy camera's if you want to take pictures and use the FREE World Wide Web more.

## 1 year anniversary! WAUW!

Hello interwebs,
Holy shit I'm exited! Let me hit the keyboard for some seconds =) lkgsdankbsdn;'hasd;ohie;oiwee;oig;o;psg;ohsdd;hasd;s;ohs;hogsa;ohasg;hdoasgd;hjbksda WOW! This project is 1 year old by now. Not exactly, sadly I'm writing most of this on 16-2-2012 because tomorrow I'm the whole day gone. First I'm going to Amsterdam because our school is the "best school" of the Netherlands. And after that I'm going to hangout with friends. But that doesn't make me less exiting! Wauw I just can't believe it. One year, one project and so much happened. I will update my first blog post (something like "about") again this week to add some information but I will discus some new "facts" here.

The idea
So one year ago and maybe some days I came with this idea. I won't say everything because the idea is pretty unique. But the main idea is a social network site with apps. Apps for social things (so I easily could add features of multiple social network sites) and apps for things teenager do online. In the beginning this site will be focused on teenagers and young adults. So the idea was there, what next? Ask how to make a social network =) This is the real post of my asking how to build a social network. I said I would make it with friends otherwise you have these stupid people saying "You can't build it on your own". The only thing I knew off websites is that they are build with html, css and javascript. And in these 5 days I saw this program called webmatrix to build websites. (Now I'm using notepad++). So, a 15 year old with no experience that asks how to build a social network that ain't going to be a success, right? No at this moment I'm proving that it wasn't just for fun and I'm really serious. In this last year I learned programming, marketing, seo etc. Although I'm still facing the experience part (you really need it xD). But anyway I think I will be done in 2 or 3 months. So yes a 15 year old boy working 1 year and 3 months his butt off will be launching his own social network. (I'm 16 now btw)

How did you learn programming?
I know sound weird. A 15 year old boy at the time asks "how to build a social network" and 1 year later his launching one. How did you learn it so fast? First going to the library:

After I learned all these things I started learning php and mysql at lynda.com and that toke me around 2 weeks to understand. But I always asked questions on forums. You can see my profile page by clicking on the links. For the easy one's helpmij.nl for the hard one's pfz.nl and if those didn't answered my quistions fast enough I use w3schools.com and sometimes webdeveloper.com. And even if you still wondering. Read my first blog post, you can find that one of the reasons why I started this project is to fight boredom. So every free time I have I spent on my project. But 1. I'm not a nerd and always stopped programming when there was an opportunity to hangout with friends. 2. I don't spent all time at programming and sure I didn't spend that much time in the (middle) of this project. And since I re-started this project I didn't do that much either. Because yes I love to create something and finish this project. But on the other side I spent 1 year programming almost all my free time so I'm sometimes de-motivated to do something because it's boring. Most time I program for an hour and do something else for half an hour. So I think if I REALLY spent all the free time I had without breaks I could have finished this project in 9 months. (look at the picture) I spent 2,5 month learning html, css and a little bit of JavaScript (what I use since I re-started this project) and spent another month learning php and mysql. So 3,5 months learning than I spent 2 weeks finding the best hosts, searching how to get traffic etc. Conclusion 5 months for learning and spent another 5 months gaining experience etc. And since half December I re-started this project (because most of the code was old and bad, this is an example of too less experience). Although since than I only spent 4 weeks really programming. So the whole conclusion may finish this project in 1 year and 3 months but could have done it in 9-12 months.

Normally you have to invest into a project why not in yours?
Because I'm not losing any money. I just need a laptop (I already had), software (free) and eventually a webhost (90 euro's the first few months and after that 300 euro's). So I only have to invest some money when I'm going to launch the site. And because of this project I may made 1200 euro's. Because I "accidental" came in contact with somebody who needed some maintenance on his website (300 euro's). He gave addresses of 2 other's who needed a website (+600 euro's (still working on)) and my mother knew someone who needed a website (+300 (still working on)). I wouldn't be able to do this without this project because I would never had known how to build websites.

Why blogging?
Because I love to read blog and watch vlogs. So when I started this project I thought "Let's blog this whole project just for myself.". But since I restarted this project I'm thinking "My blog can give me some extra members". And that's why I started blogging way more quality content. And start how to / tutorials about high discussed topics. And to gain even more I started "vlogging" these tutorials too! Youtube: myownsocialnetwork. And since than my blog is way more visited. And February isn't over yet (it's now 17-2-2012)

Conclusion
So this was my little faq of the most important topics of this project. I made because of this project 1200 euro's. I'm working on it for 1 year now (4 weeks since I re-started) and I think I still need 2 or 3 months. I hope you enjoyed it so far and I hope I will see you next week!

Tips to improve / extend iphone / ipod touch battery life

I'm going to show you how to improve your iphone / ipod touch battery life. I'll give you 3 tips with almost no cons. But that's personally. The video will be posted soon!

step by step

Less brightness - The first and most simple tip is to use less brightness. Like any mobile phone your screen is the battery enemy. Go to your homescreen > settings > brightness > auto-brightness OFF! and there is almost no difference between 100% and 50% so slide the slider in the middle.
DePersistWifi - You need a jailbreak for this. Don't know how? checkout tutorials off tysiphonehelp. First you want to at a source and than you want to install an app that's only available in that source. But first what does it do? DePersistWifi disables wifi after 1 minute when you lock your iphone / ipod touch. And enables wifi when you unlock it again. So only when you need wifi it automatically turns on and when you don't need it (if you lock your iphone / ipod touch) it's automatically turned off. Wifi is one of the most common reasons why your battery is draining. So how do we install this etc? Open cydia > manage > right above edit > left above add > add source: http://apt.modmyi.com/ > install the app DePersistWifi > open DePersistWifi and turn it on
You won't get push notifications if you don't use 3g either! Because when wifi is off it doesn't check the whole time for new messages!
(..) and SBSettings and close background apps manually - (..) But what if you don't want to always close the app directly in the background. But sometimes you want to close all background apps at once? Use SBSettings Open cydia > manage > right above edit > left above add > add source: http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia > install the app SBSettings Now when you slide at the top of the screen (at the height of the battery life etc.) there pops up this SBSettings screen. But we want to add something. Open cydia > search > remove background sbsettings > install it So now we have everything installed to shut down everything at once. Slide at the top of the screen (at the height of the battery life etc.) and you will see an "app" with the name RemoveBG. When you have some apps in the background running and you push that button they will be closed in the background. But if you don't want to jailbreak your iphone or ipod touch you can do it manually. Go to your homescreen and press the home button twice (fast) now hold you finger on one of the apps for (3 seconds?) and now you will see "the remove" image. Press it and you will close that app in the background.

Some tips with serious cons

Airplane mode - When you in an airplane or just in an area without reception you can activate the airplane mode. This will disable wifi, bleuthooth, 3g (so you can't call and receive text messages etc.)
Disable wifi - When you not using wifi turn wifi off. Otherwise wifi will search the whole time for access points.
Disable location service - Just disable it. When do you really need location services? Google maps, Facebook check in\, photo app (if you want to know where you toke that picture) but otherwise just turn it off.
Fetch new data (mail) - How do I change these settings? Home screen > mail, contact, calenders > fetch new data > turn off push Oke if you really want to be the first to receive a new mail you shouldn't turn it off. But when you don't care just turn it off. Use fetch instead. Now it will only check every X minutes.

So now you have an jailbreak on your ipod touch you have this app called cydia. Run the app.
In cydia go to manage
Than you click on source
Right above you will see this button edit. Click on it =)
When you clicked on edit you will see left above add

In the hackulo source you can download installous and in the apt.modmyi you can download whatspad
Go to installous and search for whatsapp (if you have a old device and it isn't working choose a old whatsapp version)
So now you have whatsapp installed and you can start registering now (you need another cellphone so you could receive the activation code)

Why the whatspad app? Because without the whatspad app you can't register in whatsapp

#41 cleaning like a woman

Hi,
There is going on allot and there isn't any progress? Yup, this week was such a weird week. I did so much but in the same time I did nothing. Also this blog won't be such long because of a busy week. But on Thursday I'll post 3 new YouTube video's!

I thought I'll only learn JavaScript
In the beginning of this week I learned allot again. I watched some lynda.com tutorials and "played" allot with some examples. I was a little bit disappointed that I learned JavaScript and than at the end of the tutorial they said "You could use J Query for more functionallity!". WTF? I'm learning the concepts of JavaScript and than at the end you have a better / faster way? Anyway it isn't really different but I have to learn the J Query elements instead of the old JavaScript one's. Like getElementById(""); and now I'm learning $.("") or something like that (Sorry I can't remember right now). And I'm learning all the J son / ajax etc. It is JavaScript but it feels like I'm learning tons of new computer languages. But I'm not only learning JavaScript today I wanted to learn something that I never understood in php. The classes and the -> signs. I finally know what it could do etc. But I don't see the point of it to implement it in my code. I'll make separate php files with functions in it. (I think that is almost the same)

Cleaning like a woman
As what I said in my little intro. I did so much this week but on the other side I did nothing. Yes I learned JavaScript / ajax / j son at the beginning of the week. But I'm only learning not implementing it in my code. And I cleaned my code. But that means I didn't made something new this week. So you see what I mean? Yes learning is great and yes cleaning my code is great but on the other side is did not make ANYTHING new this week... But my site is faster now =). I said in earlier blogs that I cleaned my code but only include's adding new lines and some less if statements. Now I'm talking about new lines, adding comments and use less variables. New lines just to keep the code readable. But adding comments, jeeeeesssss. I should have done that way more earlier. Sometimes I looked at my own code and thought "What was I trying to do?". I'm not kidding but it toke me 15 minutes at 1 function to figure out what it exactly did. Yes I knew what it suppose to do. But how did I accomplish that? And I'm using LESS variables now and with less I mean LESS. Normally I made something like this:
$count = mysql_query(count etc);
if($count==1){
$name = $_POST['name'];
etc.
now I don't make these useless intermediate steps so:
if(mysql_query(count etc)==1){
echo $_POST['name'];

eventually it's a little bit less readable I think but that's why I'm using comments and new lines way more now. And it improves the speed of the site. Because I'm using 50% less variables now. 50%!

A big mobile phone or a small tablet?
Lg's 5 inch new mobile phone. I like big screens on mobile phone. It makes everything more pop. But 5 inch? I like the Samsung galaxy s2 screen. Big, sharp and just enough for my fingers (Because I could reach everything of the screen with my thumb). But how about 5 inch? And by than I wonder if the makers know why there are mobile phones and tablets. Because mobile phones need to be "transportable" (can't fight the right word). And I'm not going to put a 5 inch "mobile phone" in my pocket.

Wikileaks is fake
Nokia Lumia 900. Nokia "accidentally" leaked picture's of their new Nokia Lumia. I think it's kinda lame now a days to accidentally leak picture of your new products. Every fucking company leaks accidentally content of their new products. And yes of course I know that they get allot of publicity with that. But it's lame to say it's accidentally. I think your company is awesome if they say "Here are some pictures of our new product, so you know what to expect.". But anyway I like the Nokia lumia series =). It has a simple interface and it works great with all your social networks.

Apple hack
Apple may have a huge hack going on for years. And it's not 100% sure it's a hack but let's say it is. Of course Apple is not going to say they are hacked because their stocks will go down. But on the other side isn't it ironic that Apple is hacked? There desktops, laptops or other device are hack able prove. But on the other side I think it's just the users password that isn't great. Because most people with an IOS device have a password "1234" "1112" "1379" I think the passwords of their iTunes account aren't that secure either. So if you use a brute force hack program to check all passwords with "secret" "password123" I think you could hack a few million accounts =)

I'm sorry for this small and boring blog post but I hadn't more time this week. Next week I promise I will make a better one again.

How to use wifi only on any mobile phone (Android, Blackberry and Iphone)

I'm 99% sure it works on every mobile phone. But if it not works I'm not responsible (answerable) for costs at your provider. Because something like: a. The method doesn't work on your mobile phone (something like an error in your settings) b. You didn't do exactly what I did.

Hello, I'm going to show you how to only use wifi on any mobile phone. I know that the Android and Iphone tutorials may is a little bit easy but the main reason why I made these tutorials was for Blackberry devices. Because on a Blackberry device it's a little bit harder. If you don't have an Android, Blackberry or Iphone don't worry. Watch / read the tutorials that fits the most by your mobile phone because almost all phones are the same so it's not that hard to do this for example on a Nokia.

Step by step:

Turn on your phone or unlock your phone so that you could see your home screen
Go to your menu
Go to manage connections
Go to mobile network options
Make sure data service is on
Go to your menu again
Go to options
Go to advanced options
Go to browser
Make sure default browser configuration is set on hotspot browser and go back (of course save changes)
So when you are in advanced options go to TCP/IP
Remove apn: "Some text" (BUT, write it down somewhere if you want to put it back on in the future)
Disable APN settings enabled
Done!

Look out! If you disable APN you are not getting instant notifications of apps. (like new message's on Facebook) Only if you start the app you can see the new message's.

Android
I'm sorry for the bad English in this video. But my sister was gone so I was able to steal her phone for 5 minutes. So I didn't prepared this video!

Step by step:

Turn on your phone or unlock your phone so that you could see your home screen
Go to your menu
Go to settings
Go to wireless and networks
Go to mobile networks (most times, but some times use packet data is settled somewhere else)
Disable use packet data
Disable data roaming

Iphone

Sorry I only have a step by step tutorial.

Step by step:

Turn on your phone or unlock your phone so that you could see your home screen
Go to settings
Go to general
Go to network
Turn off cellular data

Look out! On a Iphone you are now using wifi only. But you can't retrieve MMS, retrieve / listen to voice mail and use personal hotspot.

Concepts

Data service / use packet data / cellular data - If you disable you could do everything with your phone as normal (text messages, making calls etc.). But there are some exceptions in red (depending on your brand). But what you are disabling is the function to connect with the internet by 3g. Now you could only use the internet by wifi. (Although Blackberry can't connect with internet by wifi if data service is turned off...)

Roaming - If you enable roaming you can internet where ever you want. It doesn't matter which provider you have at that moment. But if you disable it you can only use internet by your own provider. So let's say you contract is at t-mobile and you disable roaming you can't use internet if you have an AT&T connection. While if you enable it you could use internet at AT&T but because you have a contract at t-mobile it's very expensive. So I recommend you to disable roaming always!

3g - A internet connection with an provider. This is now a days pretty expensive if you don't have a contract or over your contract's limit.

WIFI - A internet connection with a wifi router / hotspot. This is free for a mobile phone. So it's free? Yes, but you have a contract with a provider for your wifi router...

Provider - A company that connects your mobile phone with the world. By than you could send text messages, retrieve call and use internet over 3g etc.

FAQ

Blackberry - Can I still use pin if I'm using wifi only?
Yes, but you still need a blackberry service contract. (In the Netherlands it's 2,50 a month)

#40 Facebook on the market, invest or not?

Hello party people :D,
This week was one of the best week ever since I restarted this project. 1. because I made some money on a old project 2. I'll making money with a new project 3. I finally learned JavaScript. The money part is cool but I'm more exited about the JavaScript part of this week. You will read all this in the upcoming paragraphs. Although I wrote allot this week and didn't check all the content twice which means this will be a new episode of "Worst case scenarios: English grammar" S01E04

In the beginning of this week I was working on a site for someone else. That one were I was working on quite some time ago. (I think I even blogged about it in the past). I think I was busy with that until Wednesday and than suddenly my mom came back from work and said "I may know someone who needs a website.". So I'm done with that old website and tomorrow I'll hear if there is a new "job". But don't worry this old site toke my only until Wednesday and this new website isn't going to spend that much time either so the project isn't in dangerous :D. So David you spent the rest off the week on your project? (next paragraph)

JavaScript, JavaScript and more JavaScript
So until Wednesday I didn't work that much on my project. And later on either. I don't know why but I wanted to learn a little bit programming for computer programs. And "luckily" they learned the basics of all the languages by doing some code in JavaScript. And the examples of the JavaScript weren't that hard. So I searched for more information about JavaScript on the internet and I found out that JavaScript isn't that hard. And because I never worked with JavaScript before I'm learning JavaScript these last few days and the upcoming ones. Finally the site will be even more user friendly because of JavaScript. And I finally could start writing my own JavaScript code and know what I'm doing. Before I copied some code and I didn't really know what it exactly did. So I'm working on my project now by adding some JavaScript to make the site user friendlier. I could finally make forms that don't say after you submitted "Hy, this is wrong...." but while you'are typing.

So I'm building more audience every week and that's why I want to get some feedback. I'm posting this paragraph here so I really know you reading this and not only read the first paragraph. My own social network project is not going to the market but to YouTube!

Internet is traffic, traffic and traffic. So how do you get traffic? Of course I know :D and that's why I want to use it for this blog and later on my own social network. And on YouTube I could upload video's now saying "Check out my blog" and when I'm done with my project make an annotation "Check out this social network". I'm going to upload 1 / 2 video's a week about hot topics and tutorials that allot of people need / like. I'll start this week with some apple product tutorials.

Facebook on the market, invest or not?

To not make a "fake" title this week again (Although I didn't thought last-week title was inappropriate) I'm going to talk about Facebook that is going to be on the market. For all you noobs that came here only for this topic first of all this is a blog is made to entertain you. Everything in this blog is based on facts with my opinion. This topic is more based on my opinion so it's not the ultimate "How to invest" tutorial you will find on the internet! And for all of you thinking I'm just making Facebook black because I'm making my own social network you're wrong! This is just my opinion besides the fact that I'm building a social network. So first of all why should you invest?

Online marketing is growing fast! And unlike Google that's only showing you advertising based on you behavior online. Facebook is also showing you advertising of things your friends likes. Which means their targeting is a little bit better.
It is a fast growing network not on facebook.com. There are 2 million website with "like" buttons.
It's replacing msn, email, texting etc.

But there are some downsides:

Facebook is already big. You could better invest in a new project (hihi, mine). A social network that is going from 100 members to 800 million is a money maker. A social network that goes from 800 million to 900 million isn't that fast growing anymore.
So the members are already on Facebook but how about competition? Exactly there almost isn't but the concurrency is getting smarter and better. (hihi, me) And maybe Google+ is getting big in a few months.
I'm not going to say much about it but if Facebook doesn't do anything with their privacy issues (selling it for money to others) people are leaving.

And if you think about it. Isn't Facebook on the market so other companies could easily show advertising based on users behavior (privacy)? Isn't Facebook on the market so they could make a little bit of extra money so they could invest in in their own company before competition is taking over?

Goodbye Megaupload

:( Megaupload is forced to delete their content. So everything uploaded on Megaupload is gone. I think this is a way too severe punishment. Yes, there may are some copyrighted files on it but by far not everything!

No sense of humor

Haha, I was reading this week an article about a British that tweeted "Free this week before I go and destroy America!". Translated: "Free this week before I go partying like crazy!". And even after a 12 hours interrogation he had to leave America. Of course you shouldn't say things like "I'm going to kill..." "Bomb in...." on twitter but even after a 12 hours interrogation saying that it's just an expression the police thinks it's real? And that dude had to go home? Pretty fucked up... stupid cops.

Stupid cops

I better should not say that after reading this. First of all I may not allowed in the US by now xD and the cops are dangerous! Like this cop, he's against the hacker group Anonymous and he said "Get those hacking (expletive). I'm a cop in the bay area CA. (sic) I would go at them with both guns!". So we are not allowed to say "Free this week before I go and destroy America!" but the cops could threaten us?

Sadly it's only a dutch article (because it was in the Netherlands). Anyway a 13 year old boy threatens another boy, mistreated him and even abused him! All because he wanted a necales or something in the game Runescape. The boy got a 144 hours community service and I think it's great. There are so many kids scammed online and finally the cops respects that and wants to prevent it. Most time you can't really prove that you scammed but the police said "This boy had spent pains and time into that object." that's why we punish that other boy.

Preventing the spam ( You could enable this function now by filling in your name and bank account in a comment on this blog post xD )

Finally big companies are working together to prevent spam. Yes, whooa! Ow wait they are only blocking email spam? I think Hotmail has already a great tool to prevent spam. Yes I do have spam but always in my "Spam box" and 1% of the time emails that are not spam get into that box so I think Hotmail is great. And I already know if a boy is mailing me "I bought some new Uggs at: link" or "Hy, fill in your name and bank account" it's fake. I would love to see them work together to prevent every spam on the internet. YouTube comments, blogger blog comments and Google Analytic spammers ( Bots that are visiting your site but not really read it etc. )

Apple's bad excuses

I can't find the article but it's about the Iphone produced in China. It's only 70-100 dollars more expensive than making it in the United States of America. You already paying way too much money for that product (Iphone 600 euro's so why not pay 670 euros?). Apple says it's only because people in China want to work instantly (Today a new plan, tonight 100 new employers). But it's just such a big excuse to make Iphones in China. The real story (truth) about Apple:

Some inspectors said that China isn't that big of a deal in the developing process. They only get 10% of the money in the whole progress. HAHAHAHAHAHA, APPLE! Of course if you only pay these Chinese people 1 dollar for each Iphone and sell it for 800! And why does apple says this all after some inspectors find out about the issues in the Foxconn fabric?
In the Foxconn fabric there are bars before the windows so people can't leave the building. Otherwise they will jump. They even have collecting nets beneath all windows.
source. So the reason why they make Iphones in China is because there are some people that want to work instantly? Offering a job at 12pm and 18pm you are already working? PFF, nonsense. First of all they are the one why America have so many jobless people (Everything is done in China now a days because of Apple). Secondly if you believe this picture there are enough people in America that want a job right now!

Re-inventing the web-cam
So the Xbox Kinect is going to be the standard web-cam in laptops (or just pc I'm not sure). And that's so cool. Now the web-cam will be way more interactive and way more smarter. And isn't that the same idea of my whole project? It isn't about making something new. Just make old things a little bit smarter :D

Hello interwebs =),
I'm trying to make my own social network. I decided to not only blog my story to my goal, but also make tutorial about the things I'm facing to when I started the project without any experience of programming or website business ( marketing ) etc. In this tutorial I will show you the basics you will need to make and setup your own site. I will show you which programs you could use for programming, the benefits of a language, hosting and why you should / shouldn't choose for templates. Later on I will make tutorials about getting traffic and so on. I hope you will enjoy this how to / tutorial and checkout ( if there are ) more tutorials on my site or read my blog once up a time :D

Conclusion
This may sound weird the conclusion at the beginning but this is kind of a summary of all the information below. I written everything down that I wanted but I found out that it is hard to order everything in a good order so that's why I start with this summary and you could read the other paragraphs for more information.

Concept
To start a site the concept must be very good and most times unique. As you guys may read in my blog I re-started this project around Christmas and that has multiple reasons but one of them was a problem with the concept. I had a small idea of a new social network and started with programming. But this is not the best way to start a project because later on I run in these 2 main problems: 1. I started when I had no experience with programming so the pages I made in the beginning were bad written and not efficient. So when you starting with learning programming languages start random project just to build up experience so you could make the real site in 1 time without old / bad code. 2. The concept wasn't that clearly. I started the project and I just randomly made something what kinda looked like what I was thinking in the beginning. While later on I changed some layouts in some parts of the site and than I had to change it in multiple pages because otherwise the site looks unorganized and it has no structure. You may think this isn't a problem but yes it is! I'm a Apple hater but I love the way Apple has a nice system off how apps are made. Everyone in this world even if you have a IQ of zero you could control a Iphone or Ipod. And in every app you know where the settings are etc. While in android the apps have no structure and with every app it's a new maze game where and how you could change settings in that specific app. And isn't that one of the main reasons why there are sold so many Iphones? So take some papers and paint your idea of how the site must look like and witch functionality it has. Depending on what you want to make but if you make a social network like me wait a week with programming your website. Think that hole week so I have this idea: Sending personal messages to other users. Cool idea? - yes, but now think a whole week about it. Could you randomly send personal messages or do you need to be a friend of that user? Could you send it in 1 time to multiple users? How do I block spammers (because you could send it to multiple users)? And after a week you know exactly the hole functionality of that concept.

The preparation
Okay, the idea of your new website is clear what now? (Read this hole blog first, hihi) But I'm not kidding. Search on the internet how much it will cost to host your own site before you running into unsuspecting bills. Don't be scared almost everything is free in the programming business and hosting isn't that expensive. I'm not going to explain what a little is but if you reading this blog and reading this I think you're not the new Mark Zuckerberg. So you as reader don't need that much and you could choose for the "Unlimited" plans at any host. (Read my part about unlimited now). Unlimited plans + domain name are available for 5 dollars a month. But if you making a new social network you will need a dedicated host and most of them are starting around 75 dollars a month. And I'm expecting to pay 500 dollars a month to host my site. But that's because I have allot of users by than and they are online often at the same time and uploading pictures as hell etc. and that's why it's so expensive by than. But again you as reader only need to pay around 5 dollars a month. And learning programming and using programming programs are free so it's only hosting that will cost you money.

Learning
Now you want to learn how to program. I learned everything with lynda.com/. It's so good because they explaining everything behind in rather than w3schools.com/ that only shows you something and if you don't get it you f*cked. So in the beginning I recommend videos to learn programming. Because I learned everything at lynda.com I don't know good YouTube channels for beginner programmers. But for advanced php I recommend phpacademy. And that is the planning for your next 1 month intensive training, 2 months discovering and 9 months to become a programming master. Again don't let this scare you away you could make your own site in 1 month but 9 month until I think you could say "I'm a programmer". And a quick guide of what you need to learn. HTML is the base of your website (not that hard to learn). CSS is the layout of the HTML (medium to learn). PHP is the interaction with the user or a way for you to display things of your database (easy,medium,hard depending on what you wan to accomplish). Javascript is something I never learned because it was to hard and PHP could do 99% the same as Javascript.

Hosting
Before you start hosting look on the internet how you setup your own site by that specific host company before you don't know what to do. You could start using free hosting at the beginning to host your own little test site so you now what a host looks like (For free hosts go to my hosting section). And look on the internet around which host is the cheapest / best for you.

Programs to write languages
These programs are some examples of the programs you could use to write code in. I think Notepad++ is the winner because of the functionality but you could use any program you want to use. Because hé? At the end of the day it's just writing some words on paper.

Adobe Dreamweaver - is a GUI ( Graphical User Interface ) and WYSIWYG ( What You See Is What You Get) program to create websites. And I think that this is the worst program to make websites. I know the seduction is big to use this program but the problem is that you don't learn anything from it. Because you just paste some pictures in place and add some text here and there it may look nice but what if a error shows up? You don't know what the problem is because you don't now the html / css code that's behind it that causes the problem. So I wouldn't recommend this program because if you want to make complicated things later must be a good programmer and with this program you will never learn that. And you could always create the same "effect" by writing some code that will display the same website.

Textmate and notepad (standard for mac and windows) - are also one of the worst programs to write your code in. There are not benefits and the most common problems: Different color usage, line counter and more advanced options.

Notepad++ - is the best program to write your code in. It is almost the same as notepad ( duh ++) but it has allot of advanced options! For every element there is a different color (Yes colors are handy and not disturbing!) , Line counter at the side (you will need this if you do allot with MySQL queries because they will say (if there is a error) error at line 821) and more advanced options if you really want to get the maximum out of you text editor.

Hosting
Now you know in which programs you could write codes in and I think I must talk about hosting before programming language, because before you writing a hell lot of code you must know a program that could execute your code and so YOU could test it. I say this now before you pay for a host to only test your code. So if you already now how to program and you have your project done you will need a host. Most people think you only need a domain name for a website but that's totally wrong! A domain name is only the name for your website but if you want to put files on it and get traffic you will need a server (host). Although don't bother that much about the money because your site will only cost 4 dollar a month! Eventually and depending on what you want it could cost ALLOT more but I think if you're on this page you don't need a big host. In this part of the turial I will show you were to look for and the difference between VPS, Dedicated and unlimited hosting. Lets start with a WampServer.

WampServer
A WampServer is a server on your own desktop / laptop / mobile to run your php code and have your own database. The site is not online and can't be visited by anyone it's just for you as developer to test your new code.

Where to host your server?

Are some free hosts and you could use it for your official site but most sites are yourname.compannieshost.com and that's really ugly. Also most of these hosts are very small. These free hosting sites exist to let you experiences a real host and to show you concept of your site to your friends.

But what if you want to pay for your server what are the benefits? To answer that question I have to explain some concepts off webhosting.

Disk space - Is the memory you have to save image's / videos / your own scripts (scripts are very small about 30kb)

Data transfer / bandwidth - Is the space you have for visitors to visit your site. Example your script is 30kb and there are 2 images on your site (1,5mb each) and 1 video (10mb) your total page is 13,030 KB (13 mb). Wich means if you have a limit of 100 mb a month you only could get 7 visitors a month to your site and after that your site will display a 404 error not found.

RAM memory and processor - Are for a beginner less important things. But if you have ALLOT and I mean by that if you site is almost only running php code and have allot of users online at the same time on I would recommend a good processor so the php script is quick "calculated". And I would recommend more RAM memory if you have allot of users online at the same time that are using you database (getting info / changing info) I would recommend more RAM memory so you MySQL database is fast too.

So that are the basics to look at if you want to know what you need for a webhost. But what now? VPS, dedicated servers even some webhost sites are saying unlimited for 5 dollar a month!

VPS - virtual private server isn't that private. You share a dedicated server with other users. It isn't that bad but you can't access the root of your server (for optimal performance) and it's a little bit unsafe if you have a social network with cookies / sessions and if you have a hacker on your vps that know how to access these "secret" things he could hack your site. The other downside is that you can't upgrade things like bandwidth. processor etc. Although it's a nice thing to start with because most time you have allot of bandwidth and enough RAM memory for a "normal" site that is viewed let say 500 times a day (not at he same time)? And it's pretty cheap for the things you get

Dedicated server - You could see a dedicated server as a server you have in you room but it's somewere standing in your country (or in another country). You could access the root of your server and could "easily" (depending on your host) upgrade some stuff like processors, RAM memory etc. But the downside is that is it pretty expensive... Although buying a server for yourself is around 3000 dollars.

Unlimited hosting - is bull crap! It's a vps and it allows you to use a vps for a very low price although there are some "unknown" limits. Look at the "Terms of use" most times at the bottom at the page to read what they mean by unlimited. Because some hosts just say 1tb bandwidth a month is unlimited (they think its allot) while others say "As long as you don't slow down the vps with allot of traffic its unlimited". So really read your terms of use before you buying "Unlimited" hosting.

Templates and WYSIWYG (CMS) programs
Templates
This is such as bad as working with Adobe Dreamweaver because you're not going to learn anything off it! But if you want to make it yourself a little bit easier you could use templates for your site. But before I tell you what it is etc. Know that you're not learning anything off it, you could better make your own site (it's even easier) and you are not always allowed to change even a little of the template what really sucks! So templates what are they? Templates are pre-coded website files (like index.html about-us.html) and you could easily fill in your own text between the elements that are made for that. You only have to download the code and filling in your own information is done in a minute but there are some downsides! First of all you're learning nothing off it because the code is already made and you still have to know something about html. But why should you copy a code if you already HAVE TO know html? Why not make your own site? In both cases (using templates / writing your own code) you have to know something about html. And by than you could better make your own website because you could change everything ( because some templates YOU are not allowed to change anything except the information ) and it's easier to make your own site because you know what you're writing. What if the template looks like <div><a></img></div></a> and you don't know what it does but you want to change the link? How do you accomplish that in this template? But if you're writing the code by yourself you don't run into this short of trouble.

WYSIWYG (CMS)
What you see is what you get programs / content management systems are created for you to change the content of your site easier. With WYSIWYG programs you have a text area with GUI (Graphic User Interface / buttons) above that text area and you could easily add a photo or ad a link without writing code's like <img src=""></img> or <a href=""></a>. But again of WYSIWYG programs you're not learning anything and it's always better to write you own code. These programs are also called CMS which like the background of WYSIWYG because you fill something in into your WYSIWYG area and CMS handles it and posts it automatically in a database and automatically displays it on your site. Programming languages
This is the main part of making your own website. You could hire someone in to make a website for you but that's expensive as hell! And if you want to make a website for your (small) business without member parts or daily / weekly updated stuff its "simple" to make by your own. I would say you could make your own website in 2 weeks if you spent 1 hour a day to learn html and css.

HTML - Hypertext markup language is the main markup language for websites. With html elements you create the content of your website. For example this page it's nice looking with paragraphs, bold letters and new lines. Although this is what you see with your eye because the background of this site is way more difficult. To make a paragraph you need paragraph elements bold letters bold letters here new line . You never see these elements on your own website but if you edit it in your editing program you have to work with these elements. But don't let this scare you away because it's easier than it looks. I think I know about 10 elements and that's all! My common elements: <div></div> <a></a> <img></img> and that's almost the only ones I use! Learning may takes 10 minutes but understanding and know how to work with it may take longer.

Good things: Easy to learn, this is almost everything you website need
Bad things: Not dynamic

CSS - Cascade style sheets is the "eye" part of html. css makes html looks nice. So let say we make this paragraph: Boring paragraph it will be some boring black letters. But what if you could make it nice with colors etc? the css code: p { color: red; background-color:green; } the boring paragraph looks cool by now! (Childish but it's an example...) Boring paragraph

Good things: Make a website look nice (One of the most important things in the "website industry" because if a site looks childish ore very old I usually go away although the content is good)
Bad things: Medium hard to learn

Javascript - is a language that makes a site more dynamic. Although it is a very good / important programming language if you want to interact with the user I still don't work with javascript. The main reason is that I never understood it and you almost could do everything with php too.

Good things: Nice way to interact with the user
Bad things: My opinion: hard to learn!

PHP - Hypertext preprocessor is the language to make you site dynamic especially if you link it with your database (mysql / phpmyadmin). With php you could save / work with values of a form (html based). I use this method most time in the way of what if? What if the user filled in his name that is shorter than 10 characters. What if that name is equal to a name in the database? Do you add a 2 afterwards or do you say "Hey, this username is already in use!". You could do some much with it if you link it with a database for example: For each result (example names: David, James, Jack) show me a row in order with "Name of the user: (one of the users)". Example:

Name of the user: David
Name of the user: Jack
Name of the user: James

This is written with 1 line of code instead of html were you have to type every line manual. Example of how the php part would look like:

But again don't let this little part of code let you scare away because it isn't that hard to learn although you have to learn allot and "play with it" (Make random sites just to test you code and make your own code better / shorter) and you have to be creative (How do I make a script that removes all the , of this number 412,412,41 , you have to find out by yourself which php (element) you have to use for that). And php is THE way to show your database entries ($result in the example are database entries).

Good things: Make your website dynamic, medium hard to learn, just adds so much functionality to your site, works with databases
Bad things: You have to spend allot of time in it to really learn it and make "nice looking" script, some of the database codes are hard

MySQL / PHPMYADMIN - MySQL is the language to build / change databases. I can't almost say more than that. MySQL is the thing to make databases and improve the structure (speed) of the database. And php is the way to display database entries. phpmyadmin is also a way to build / change databases but more in a GUI way ( Graphical User Interface) so with allot of icons to make it easier.

Good things: Makes your site dynamic if you use the info in the database in your php code.
Bad things: a little bit hard to correctly maintenance your database for ultimate performance

#39 I know why Facebook doesn't give a **** about your privacy

Another week another blog. This time no introduction but I did only a (little) this week. Overall it's not much but the privacy system of my site is working fine by now. I also quickly want to talk about next level blogging. I'm chancing my order of my blog. It's not introduction, tech news and diary anymore. Because I'm writing more tech news by now the diary didn't stand out that much anymore. So the blog posts will be: Introduction, diary and than tech news.

Facebook and their privacy
I know the title is a little bit misleading. But I want to talk about privacy. Facebook makes a lot of money with selling users (thoughts) to company's. And the privacy policy is unclear. By the way these are not my words. But a lot of people are annoyed by that fact and that's a little reason why I'm creating this new social network. So this week I worked at the privacy system off my site and let me tell you: That's hard! Or it's because my approach to this problem isn't right. But making a system of who's allowed to see a user profile? , who's allowed to see their address?, who's allowed to see that specific picture? etc. To make it all work together is hard. And that's were I spent most of this week on.

A milestone is reached.Getting a follower and getting comments on blog posts. If you reading my blog every week but you never left a comment would you please do it? You don't need an account on my blog to leave a comment and it just makes me happy and I know by than that people are really reading this blog. Although there are many people reading this blog if I trust my Google Analytics. The average time on my blog is 3 minutes. That's enough to read 1 blog post.

Back it up
OMFG! I almost lost my project! When I started this project I also saved the files on my USB stick. When I re-started this project it didn't automatically back it up (I didn't say to my computer that it has to back up that new folder either). So I almost lost my new project. I know something about computers (Duh I'm making my own social network) so I tried many things but the computer still remained black when I was trying to put it on. After I think 4 different ways to re-start the computer and after that 8 times just hoping it went back on it did. Lesson learned always back up files.

I know this video doesn't make any sense but most people that land on this page probably don't read it but instead they only tried to watch the video (If you did: HAHA, my marketing is working xD). It wasn't meant for my blog btw. But isn't it weird? The computer didn't start up but it gave this weird lines...?

Because the external pages at blogger don't get indexed while the blog posts do. And considering that Google is my biggest traffic magnet I want my tutorials to be indexed. Megaupload
I know I'm already late with this topic but I wanted to quickly talk about it. As you guys now my site will be full of apps and one of an app ideas is file sharing. (Because sites like megaupload.com, filedude.com/, mediafire.com/ are so popular) Although it's hard to say if my app is going to be popular. You know these site are easy to use and sometimes you don't need an account. But on the other side why not uploading your files while you chatting on a social network site that has also has the functionality to upload stuff. And I'm now asking myself if I want an app that can do that. If I have a better host than were I'm going to start with sure. But when I don't have that much disk space I don't know. And secondly how do I provide my users to not upload illegal stuff? Is only a radio button with "I own this file" enough so something like the "megaupload case" couldn't happen to me?

Blackberry
NOOOOO, some of the highest people at RIM quit. Luckily they still have a little participation in the company but still it sucks. Now it looks like Blackberry is really going down. I don't know why but a lot of Americans hate Blackberry's, why? I have a Blackberry curve 8520 and yes it isn't an Iphone but I could do what ever I want with that phone. If I had some money, I would have bought a Blackberry bold 9900. Best keyboard ever and it has a really nice touch screen. And most people have this argument to not buy a blackberry "There is almost nothing in the blackberry store (appworld)". Yes, so? It doesn't mean you can't do anything with it and it doesn't mean the phone sucks! Since the Iphone is on the market with all his apps people forget that there is something that is called the internet! Every big site has a mobile version of there website that is working fine! Look at the Facebook app and the Facebook mobile site, is there a difference? NO, the only + of the app is that it is a little bit faster.

Motorola
As you guy may now Google bought Motorola a few months ago. Last week I laughed my ass off because of Google and this week agian! Google want's to make a phone that is smarter than a smart phone. How? Example: If your battery is low all the time there pops up this "notification" window. With tips about how to prevent a low battery. For my grandma great idea for normal human beings, HAHAHAHAHHA Google! For these things you just search it on Google. And no one in this world wants to have that awkward moment when your at your girlfriend house and your girlfriend is using your phone. And this pop up says "We noticing that you watching a lot of p... Do you want to enable anonymous search and browsing?"

Google and Google+
"For these things you just search it on Google.". I said it last week about that I sometimes don't want that friends could easily track down everything I do on the internet. This week you can't disable "safety" search on Google if you are using Google +. By "safety" I mean that everything your search on Google is automatically "posted (or something like that)" on your Google+ page. You can't disable this function. And that's why I'm so happy I have made some Google accounts before you automatically sings up for Google+. I said last week that I think that sneaky way to get Google+ members isn't going to work. But this week they made it even worse because now I'm 100% sure I'm not going to use Google+. Pretend all accounts of Google are connected with Google+ automatically someday. I'm not going to log in at my Google account that much because everything I search and YouTube? is going to be posted on my (what I didn't wanted and can't disable) Google+ "wall (I don't know if it is called wall)". And I think a lot of people feel me by that. And by than no one is logging in to their Google account just because Google connects it automatically with it Google+ service (and shares everything you do) what no one wants. Which means Google is destroying itself.

As you guys now I use this system now that automatically posts my blog so in the middle of the week I could already type a little for my blog. Now Google+ accepts people of the age of 13 and Facebook also only accept people 13+. Is this a law? Because I'm not going to block users under the age of 13. But in that news post they also said Google+ has 90 million users but they didn't want to say how many active users. Of course! If you make everyone a member that registers for YouTube you are not getting "good" (traffic) / users for Google+ which means Google+ may have only 1% active users. haha 1% ^,^

Samsung's new tablet.
I hate tablets except the Samsung galaxy line (and I love the galaxy s line (mobile)). But Samsung is introducing a new tablet soon. And I hope for them they changed the layout of the device. So they don't run in to trouble with Apple again. Although I think it isn't Apples primary reason why they are against the Samsung tablet. I think it's more because Apple knows that that tablet is better but they just say it's only the layout so Apple doesn't look like a di**. But before you Apple fans are hating on my I love IOS and I don't like Android. I'm talking only about the specs now. But will I buy this new tablet? NO! I hate tablets. Why buy something that you use mainly at home while you have a better computer. Why carry that thing around whole day (not in your pocket like a mobile phone) while you have a phone that could do more? So that are the main reasons why I'm not going to buy tablets. Instead its sad they Samsung announced a new tablet and not the Samsung galaxy s3 (mobile). Looking forward to that :D

Hello interwebs (ha! I'm not the only one!),
A new week but a stupid one.. Again I don't have that much to say and I didn't do anything with my project. So since I re-started this project around the end of December I only worked 1,5 week on the project. But I'm a smart ass now and I have learned for my test week. And that's why I could program allot this week (I hope xD).

Bam, I'm a blogger =)
So I think at this moment I could call myself a real blogger =). Yes I know I'm already blogging 11 months but that where blogs like "Hello, did nothing. Bye" And now they long and I hope better written. But I wanted to make this paragraph because I didn't say this last week: 1. I stopped with "#X Sundays" I think it is stupid so it's now only a number with a title. 2. I made my first tutorial "How to create and build your own / a website." where I'm still working on. (Respect to the bloggers in the world because telling a big story / making a how to / tutorial is so hard! I have all these ideas but ordering it nice is so hard.) 3. I discovered this button that you could write something but publish it at a specific time. This is a great function because of 2 reasons. 1. I don't forget things (Things I was thinking about on Wednesday) 2. I don't have to write some minutes at a Sunday evening now I could write at anytime. 4. SEO / Marketing is working as hell! You guys remember I said this blog has 202 views (2 weeks ago). These 202 views where over 10 months. Now in this 2 weeks I made that number 302!

Pff, Google and their marketing...
I know Google is big and I know I'm a kid of 16 that doesn't know something about the marketing business but Google? Now a days if you register for a Google account or YouTube account you automatically registered for Google+ etc. Serious? As if some one that registers for YouTube is going to use Google+. I'm not saying that my project is going to be awesome but Google+ is a fail. Why would you spent so much time into a dead project? It's like Myspace... A fun fact: When I was reading that article it said "Even people at Google+ doesn't use it." - haha. And I'm not somebody that gives much about privacy, but I have a good reason why I don't even want to register for Google+. Because if you a Google+ member and you friends on it to you could do something like a "Social search". A Google search with only results of your friend. I'm not hiding something that I don't want to show to my friends but still some things I rather keep for my self. Conclusion: Google it's not going to help your fail project called "Google+".

Copying Facebook >:)
I love failblog.org and specific the Win and Failbook section. Win because you see awesome shit. And Failbook because it's funny how friends making stupid comments at their friends status. But what I'm noticing is that some in Win and Failbook sections are pictures of the new Facebook layout. Funny things like this example. So I had already this idea of that big picture at your "Wall" (I don't know how I'm going to call it in my project). But I'll have it as a standard because of 2 reasons. 1. People like it and post these funny things at famous blogs / websites. 2. People like it and only some nerd now how to accomplish it. The only down side is that I have a different profile page than Facebook and the profile picture is not directly in that big picture. And by than you could ask yourself the question "Are people going to make these funny pictures even if it is less accurate?" (accurate because I have some space between the big picture and profile picture while Facebook has the profile picture on top off the big picture.) (I Google translated this part so don't mind if it is something weird): But in order to dispel your prejudice. Mine big picture is (maybe because what I told just a second ago) less awesome and it's even going to be more less awesome. I'm planning to make div's that lets say 30% visible in the picture and when your mouse goes over it it's going to be 100% visible. And if you have your mouse over the div it's going to elapse another div with the information you need. So lets say we have a 30% visible div with "Pictures" and you go with your mouse over it at the bottom there is going to be a new div with the pictures you have on my social network. I think it's cool :D

No more tech, more political stuff!
Haha, because I don't had that much to say in this blog and my television is on with the news saying that Romney may is not the winner yet I just want to quickly talk about it. I'm not in the American political stuff but wtf. I'm not sure about this but the campaign just started at January first and 15 days later they were saying that someone is already the winner while they have a year (?) to go. Of course your prediction isn't accurate by than. But I don't mind. I'm not a republican so I don't care. Although I do because I hope the republicans doesn't win. I'm a democrat but you could better say I'm a socialist. Wasn't the world so much awesome-er if the money in this world was spread equally? If school and hospitals and healthcare was free? If bosses of banks didn't get 2 million euros when they leave there job? Wasn't it way more fair if the Lorenz curve (especially for you Americans) was up side down (as it is now). I know not many Americans will share the same view as my right now. But what if America didn't cut down all the export off Cuba? By than Cuba had a great economy and it was a country where I only could dream off to live in. Because they have almost all the statements I told you a second ago. And I know what you thinking right now: "So David even by than you want to live under the Fidel Castro regime? (now Raúl Castro)" I don't mind. I'm not going to talk about if Fidel Castro was good or bad (I'm already driving away way too far from my blog). But it isn't only his fault that Cuba has a bad Economy right now. It's Americas fault to. And if you remove the part that Cuba has a bad economy right now, it has because of Fidel Castro all these statements I made a few seconds ago and a good economy.

But I stop this blog by now. I only wanted talk about my statement real quick "Of course your prediction isn't accurate by than.". And suddenly your tech blog is a political blog about America and Cuba.

I was just saying it in this blog and I was already using it. I wrote this blog around an hour ago and it's now 19:35 and at 21:45 this blog will be live. But that's why I could talk about these thing I came up with.

Am I a predictor?
So 2 weeks ago I was talking about why I don't show my codes and in that week there was a news message about a hacker that found the source code... (if you want to now more read my #37 and #38 blog posts) 1 week ago I was talking about that I'm sometimes not sure if I'm using a regular expression or a copyrighted word. And today there is a news article about that! You could read it by your own but it's about Facebook using the name "Time line" and timeslines.com isn't happy with that. So even Facebook has trouble with copyrighted names? Although I think it's weird because twitter.com is also using the word "Time line" so why is it a problem by Facebook? I think it was because Facebook is also using the layout of that site. But who knows something about timelines.com? I just visited their site and I had 2 times a error because the server is overloaded. And that's why this statement is 100% true "It doesn't matter if you in the news in a good- or a bad way."

For the first time ever I don't feel sorry that I almost didn't do anything this week. That's because I already told you guys that I have a lot to allot in the next coming weeks! And since I brought my blog to the next level I still could talk about something that isn't about what I did this week (sort of diary). Now I can talk about random things. Tech news / random topic I want to talk about / diary.

Bring the blog to the next level
Since last week I decided to bring this blog to the next level and I did! I watched some SEO / marketing video's (I already knew something about it) but hé learning isn't wrong, right? I write more, so the content is better. I use "Labels" but that's bloggers way to call "Tags". I added my site to http://technorati.com/ because Google own "tutorial" page said that was one of the way to get more audience. And I decided to make this blog more interesting for tech people / bloggers / website builders. Because I'm going to make tutorials too. I'm not sure how to add that to this blog because it's hard to for someone else that isn't interesting in my project to only find the tutorial blog posts. But I'll have the solution for that next week.

And that's why I don't show you guys that much
I know this blog was boring and maybe still is ( Give me more time please :P ) but I sometimes can't show you guys stuff because it's dangerous (A). I said this last week but luckily today it was in the news again. News article. In this case it very dangerous because everyone with Norton is fucked by than. But back to my project. Even if I show parts of my code some smart ass hacker could use it against me. But David why don't you use screen shots? I know this is awkward and stupid to say but I really think my project is original and unique. And 5 programmers working together could make something that is similarly to my idea in 2 weeks. And that's why I don't show that much. Sorry?!

Diary
I didn't write any code this week but I thought about stuff in my free time and that brought even my project to the next level. I though about my "Notification center" and how I could accomplish reminders etc. And I didn't knew how to do that until this week. If you add timestamps and make a database with reminders (tinyints) you could accomplish a hell lot! And if you make a div at the bottom of the page with a jqeury that is checking every 5 seconds if there are some new chat's you could also make a real time chat app that is PHP based. Because that was the hard part I already searched the hole interwebs to find a real time chat app but 90% of them were flash things and 9% of them were PHP but with a lot off javascript and jquery. I don't now anything about these languages (yes I use it sometime but than I watched a tutorial and literary typed everything over because I don't know what I'm doing when I'm working with javascript / jquery). But I also know how to make a chat app by now.

Copyrights reminder
I knew I wanted to talk about something more this week. I was talking about "Notification center" and that's the exact name as apple's notification center. And that's not the only problem I already use some names of other company's and my site is a mix between existing products. Now I'm getting into this problem of "Being creative" or "Copying things". Because I'm not creative guys :( so most of the names I come up with are really stupid. But copying things could get me into trouble with big company about copyrights. So next week I'll publish some names I'm not sure about if it is a "Regular expression" or a with copyrights protected name.

I'm done with this blog post for now. Short but I had a busy week (and the next 2 weeks, sorry!)

Oke you need to +1 this, like this, re-tweet this, respect this, re-blog this, add to favorites, follow or subscribe to this blog because I'm in time! Fun fact I was thinking of all the thinks you could do online and on social networks. And than I though "Fucking hell, I'm going to solve this problem." Solve the problem of all these options on different site's with all less / better quality than the other.

Anyway I think it was 3 weeks ago that is said I'm going to blog more etc. And because it's 2012 (see it as a fresh new start, although you have to make the best of everyday) I'm going to bring this blog to the next level. Because it has 202 views by now and every week +10 views. Most off them is coming from my topic at helpmij.nl . But there is some coming from other places. And you know what? That's 'Free' traffic and why not make this blog 'big' so I my goal is to have at the end of this blog 50 readers every week so I already have 50 random members. And I think because they read this blog most off them like it and really follow along with this project they will share it with their friends (there is also an option if you just a member) but let's say 20 people will do it. 20 x 75 (average twitter followers, email addresses , Facebook friends) it's 1500. Let's say another 2% becomes a member 1500 / 100 x 2 = 30 people extra. So I could make 80 members out of these blogs.

Referring to my latest blog where I said "Facebook changed their profile page" I didn't saw that much of the changes but now I did. There is only 1 thing I like (not that it's really effecting the site) But the site is messy now. 90% of the users have the old Facebook profile and 10% of the users have the new Facebook profile. I think that's annoying and looks kinda messy. Take an example: Android is cool, but it's not that good as OS because it's messy. Every app is different and there is no structure in Android. While on OS you now what to expect in every app. Same places for change settings in the apps. Same place to go to an other 'page' in the app. And that's why OS is so great I think. It's structured and Facebook isn't anymore. But not that it is a bad think that is going to help my out but still. Although the new Facebook profile looks allot like mine. Oke I'm currently stealing the idea of that big image at the top but how the pages looks like with all those apps etc. looks like mine profile page. And I'm not kidding you guys now I said "It's not an Facebook rip off" and it wasn't but now it looks like.

Referring to Facebook rip off. You know google+ right? That site scares my twice know. First of all that I'm creating my own social network at the time and they made one. But now it scares my because that site is a big FAIL. And google+ is sooooo big and had so much advertising and even with that its a FAIL. So what the fuck! How I'm I going to make a success of mine? Mine tactic is only: Spamming facebook friends (200), Twitter (40), Mailing (200), Hyves (300) and spam some forums that helped my solve problems and helped my learning programming. Spam in a way of 'signature' that you always have under you message. And create a topic at 'Test my site'. Maybe that will give me 50 people. So that's around 800 people that I spam. (some the same so: 800 x 0.8 = 640. And example with the worst that only 10% is becoming a member 640 / 100 x 10 = 64 members.) I hope my friends support me and spam others so in the first week I hope I get 200 members. While google+ had 7 million users at the first day and failed... With 200 members my site is going to look empty and maybe people will leave and mine will be a fail too... So getting members is going to be a challenge.

I don't know that many ways to say it so here is the boring: referring to make a better blog. This blog is boring because I never show something and that is going to change also. Don't expect much bit still I'm going to show you something. MMM after 5 minutes of research I can't find it anymore... But there was this message that a security company is hacked and the hackers published the source code. And that's one of the reasons why I didn't do this: Because I started over I wanted to give away my old project. But I still use some of the security and methods I did in that project I didn't do it because otherwise you guys could see the code I was using. But that's why I show you some pictures of my old project. And be warned this is the reason why I started over again! Not only I could make better code I'm also giving the eye something to look at this time. But here it is:

I never will do something like this anymore because it's boring for you guys but you see how much more efficient that is?

Oké the blog is getting a little bit messy now so I start here a new paragraph. Not only that is way more efficient everything in this site is better now. Because when I started I didn't know how to use arrays and functions and didn't saw the point of them. But now I'm almost only using these things. You don't only write less when you have to edit something you only have to edit 1 line while (look at the example) I wanted to change the color to yellow I had (even in this example) to change 3 lines of code. So the project is going better than evar!!!

And this is a funny fact but the next week I'm programming a little and than the up coming 2 weeks I almost won't. Test week at school and at this point I have to stay a year and I don't want that so I have to learn a hell lot... 1 semester in 1 evening =). But I'm already sorry if there is no blog or a stupid small one. And I put it at the end of the blog so I know you reading this. OMG! it's 2012, sadly I forgot to post a blog yesterday at 1-jan-2012...
But hé here it is! One day later as always... And short as always....
But hé, I didn't do this week much because I wanted to start in 2012 with this project! And I did! Since yesterday I'm programming as hell and the site is going to be awesome! Only thing that happened (I think it was this week) is that facebook changed the profile page and it looks really cool. But I can't copy that my hole site is already a copy so if I'm going to copy that it's cliché. Al though I'm going to make a nice cool looking album / picture place (A place of your profile picture's) so I hope that is unique and cool! I think in this week I will have everything done till the apps. Than I'll take a 2 week break because I have some tests on school and after that I'm going to start with the apps. And I hope this project is done in February.

#33 Sundays. A fresh start

hello guys!
Sorry that I haven't posted a blog this last 3 weeks but I was busy with school. But hé, I am back better than ever before. And if some of you guys had some problems with viewing my blog I solved that problem (my blog was on private :S, how? I don't know.). From around 28 November till 11 December I was busy with my old site but as you guys may notice I'm starting all over again.
New fresh start? Yes, my old site / blogging skills sucked:
- Not every week a blog
- Bad english
- Site was slow
- I didn't made notes so after a while I even didn't know what I did 2 weeks ago
- I couldn't make a mobile version
- And maybe more things that sucked
So I start all over again. I will post every week a blog (big) and without that much mistakes (I hope). Because I started around February this year with learning anything about programming and started after 3 months making this website I used some old / bad programming things to make the site. Programming was a mess and I wrote code that worked but didn't looked if it was fast too. And since than I became a better programmer. So that's why I start all over agian! I'm making a site that is fast, write less do more =) and I know how to make a mobile version too. And because I have these new skills I also came with some ideas: Desktop version, mobile version ( Iphone, Samsung galaxy s2 kinda phones), mobile version (blackberry kinda phones) and an extreme mobile website ( Maybe not nice looking but it won't use that much kb). I think that last idea is unique too! You have all these websites with a nice mobile version but still they use around 20kb each page. I want to make a mobile version that is around 2-5kb so it is data usage friendly.

So I new start for this project! But would I reach my goal to finish this site in February? I don't know I hope so and I think I could but you never now ( I said I finish this project after summer, I said give my 2 more months and I said this site will be up before 2012). But I hope you guys will follow me along to this new 'journey' =).

Almost 3 weeks ago I posted my last blog. And yes that means my project is not going fast anymore. Just to be fair I didn't do anything at the project for the last 1 - 1.5 month! 2 Reasons 1. It was so fucking busy at my school (tests) 2. I love photography more than programming and I bought some new lenses and since than I did more for photography than programming. But last week I wrote everything down what I still have to do and it's not that much. The only thing that is going to take some time is the mobile website. The mobile website needs to be like a OS so you have ios,android or rim but on internet you have dabosn.comOS. The nokia lumia has a nice layout what I like. (I even said this a long time ago). But the layout that I have now is way more different so there is no way I can improve that in the system right now. I will program allot next weekend and at Christmas.

Exchange, holiday and maybe forgot one week but i am back!
This week i have been working on privacy settings and images comments and next week i will focus me on making fan pages etc. I just start with that tomorrow so tomorrow at school i could think about how it's going to look and all the info that need's to be on the page. Sad thing is that my site not going to be up when i'm 15 (3 november 1995) so that's kinda sad... But my site could be up by now, the only thing is that i want a good first impression because that's the moment when people think "I'm coming back to this site". It's like picking a movie, you may know a little or you just pick the one with the strange/fun/nice picture on the front. And you decide in a few seconds if you want that movie or not.

I finnaly now why company's always delay things because in my holiday I thought it would be done by now. Now my new goal is 2 November because my birthday is 3 November (16 =)) but I want to say "I made and put this social network online when I was 15" so that's why =).

Ok first of all 'Samsung announces WhatsApp competitor' say WHAT?! It should work on all mobile device! say wtf, WTF, WTF!!!!!! My message like 2 months ago said: 'I want to make a text app that work on all device that can connect to the internet' so I was first! But samsung could only chat between mobile device while MINE could chat between internet TV,PC,MAC,Mobile devices a little differences but still it sucks.

About my #21 blog here's more how I started:
So there was my idea social network + apps but I didn't got any experience. So I search some info started making the most basics website of all time. Than I was thinking man I could never do this by my own. And I quit. Than not much later I saw 'The social network' and saw that Mark Zuckerburg came a hole end just by his own. So I started learning again and learning PHP and since than things go fast. Since I come back from my holiday I change the code dramatic, now I write less do more and the site is faster.

And that's what I did these last 2 weeks making my code better and starting to make some html5 apps.

you guys thinking I'm dead? Nah just a holiday i didn't said. (You never now who's reading my blog)
But hé I'm back think about the site functionality and shit. The sad thing is because I have some ideas I don't now if I'm done before mid September.
I was already home by Monday but just relaxing at home and watching 20 videos of youtube.com/ctfxc and alot of youtube.com/0tymoss0 and to watch that it toke some time. But tomorrow I'm starting programming again. But because I don't got much to say (Not that I ever did) I'm going to explain the start of this site.
Begin February I started the idea of starting a social network because nowadays i use like 5 social networks why not make 1 with al those features. Making a basic network (with function's like Hyves.nl) and use in apps for allot of random things but also social network things (like twitter (also something like wall (facebook))). Why a social network + apps? What I said I use 5 social network so that's something that I want to combine and apps so I could make things I use allot on the internet (like: Image upload site, Online storage, Listening to music).
Because it's kinda late I write something in my next blog, but I hope you get the basic idea of this project.

site update shit:
In my holiday I was thinking man my site doesn't look like a site from 2011. How you could solve that? I love the Samsung galaxy s2 and that home screen (you know just some boxes with colors and info in it) I also like the new nokia mango (also color full boxes with info in it) and that's how my site a little bit gonna look like.

But because it's late I end my 'Worst case scenario: English Grammer' episode now.

hi there, just another update about my social network.
When I'm programming I sometimes do have questions, and I post these questions on helpmij.nl.
Mid February i posted 'what do I need for a social network', and I don't now why but last week people commented again (after 5 months).
So I said my project is going fine and gave the link to this blog and BAM! yesterday 10 views and in 2 weeks i gain from 65 views to 93 views.
So maybe from now on people are reading my blog o,O. (if you understand bad English)
But this week I did again allot of bug fixes and made the site friendlier and made a new security system.
To make this security system kinda sucks because I already spent hours in security and now agian...
But it's safer now and that's something that you guys like.
+ it's not that worse to make because I easily made a online/offline system with it, and in the future I even need that so people can make chat's to others when they online.

I see I wrote allot so don't check the grammar on this post =) now I think about it maybe it's not the problem to make the social network but that people get REAL english,

wow maybe is google+ more than i expected but still it's a sorth of facebook-ripoff and mine is really something new.
This week i did a hell lot of bug fixes and made the site friendlier.
This week the security is going to be a little bit more secure than it was before, and it's even handy because if i use that system i can also show when someone is online and offline.

1. YOUPLAY, youtube as mp3 program. You add a link(12) and you got you own cd/playlist. Why this is different than anything else? I don't have to pay music rights, if you on a mobile with 5mb (example) you can make a playlist with youplay and you have all your music (example: 300mb) on you pc,mobile,tv and you don't need space! You just stream it.

I know i didn't blog sunday, but for the next up coming 2 weeks it's very busy on school!
but i make this extra blog because now my ideas are really 'stolen' by big companies and there is no way mine website is going to be a succes anymore. Okay i started this project mid february but i couldn't have my site online by than. I had no experience with programming and i'm still learning by my own. The idea was of making a little social network with apps online! so if you on a iphone,samsung or pc,mac or tv with internet connection you could use my apps! But this happens this week,
google putting apps online
Facebook the big mother f***** did it! they gonna make their own 'appstore' that project is called 'project Spartan'. fully html 5 functionality so iphone,samsung or pc,mac or tv with internet connection could agree! holy f*** that's the hole idea about mine dabosn.com (project My own social network) 80 programmers are working on the project(project spartan). there is no way i gonne beat that!

yeah i'm really REALLY up sad.

There is only a little hope, 1. It's mayby only IOS 2. It's going to have payed apps (my hole site is going to be FREE) 3. because i'm 15 and i learned html,css,php in 3. months and i making the site in 3 months that maybe gonne give me some publicity.

So every week i gonne tell some apps that i gonne make (so you guys can't say "you stole that", no big companies are now stealing from me!)
Only problem is that i think about apps when i'm on the street or watching television and think "ah, this is a idea" so i forget some apps to.
1. TEXT, instead of whatsapp or pingchat i gonne have TEXT it's for every device that connect to internet and it's just a free texting service
2. CALL (or something) a audio chat (also free like a phone call) (but this app maybe came later because i don't get any flash experience)
3. DATING just the basics of a dating site, but a locate based feature. So if you in a club you could check who is in and use that app. You just already there with your date and don't have to spend chat's on the internet.
4. CALCULATOR an calculator that could do basics,more scientific and just formules of school (like H x W or a/b*c or calculate your BMI or distance or money)

And sunday you see more!

this week i had alot of homework but still i did alot!
I have made a friendsystem and a sorth of krabbel(hyves) system. this week i gonne check my code if everything is safe (like: mysql_real_escaped_string and htmlentities).

omg my project is going with 10x the speed of light!
I did so much! But i think that's because all the long during processes are finished now, so i only have to select items etc.
the functionality of the site right now:
Register, Login, profile picture basic info about persons and they can change that, friend system.
So this week i will make a twitter/scrap(hyves) thing for the user, that's maybe a long project but we will see.

I stopped learning javascript, because i started to learn php. Whit php you can do alot like javascript so i learned php. I'm not making sites for others anymore because my project is going the speed of light!!

It's dutch, but is a nice way to learn HTML and CSS.
I read almost everything and HTML isn't that hard, CSS is for 75% easy but the 25% rest is hard!

I'm David Bonting and I'm 16 (3 nov 1995). I like music (Rap - Eminem, Jay-z, Lil Wayne; Hip-hop - Jay-z, Beyonce, Rihanna; And just the top 20 at mtv), sports (Athletics), mtv (Made, Cribs, the hard times of RJ Berger and I know it's girly but also Awkward) , National Geographic Channel and Discovery Channel (Locked up abroad, Myth busters, known universe) , (playing) the computer (Youtube, blogging, programming) and playing the piano (Classics and now a days music). Normal teenager thus :D.

Lonely in a dark room upstairs. Haha, no absolutely not! I know it may look a nerd talking the whole time about programming (html,css,php,mysql) but I know How To Meet Ladies (get it? nerd joke xD). Again just kidding. This may look like a nerd project and only a nerd could eventually reach the goal but I want to prove the opposite. I want to prove that even a normal teenager that isn't a nerd or even close to it could do this. And at the end of the day I have to do it, right? Why are nerds making websites? Why are nerds making social networks? What do they know about social life? So what if you like me make a social network created by the user.

When?
17-2-2011 - no limit. I don't care when it is finished. And I don't care if it's going to be a success. As you will read in why? this project is also made to combat boredom. And now I have been a year busy with creating a social network. And even if it's not going to be a success I made some profit out of it. Because after 2 months of learning html and css I "accidental" came in contact with someone that needed a website maintenance. I said ok I will do it for you and I made 250 euro's. So even without the site being launched I already have a profit of 250 euro's.

Why?

In a few sentence - To make something were users are the boss. Because I think big companies don't listen that well to their costumers. Re-invention of the internet. Because since apps on your mobile phone people forget that there is something called the internet. I want to make a site with apps (But in the way like you mobile phone). And another factor is to combat boredom. As what I said I'm just a normal teenager that watches tv 24/7, likes sleeping and eating. But be fair teenagers, it's sometimes boring, right?
You - I? Just because now one else does it. Through my journey to making my own social network I came across a lot of failures of people that gave up after some time. I want to finish this project and want to make my social network with the "In a few sentence" statements in it. Why not with a team? I want to be the boss. I want a social network were I could say "If this was a little bit to the left it would look a lot nicer" or "WTF? no ones uses this function why does it exist? Why not make something like..." without asking others for permission. Not that I ever tried but what if I wanted to search for a team? I can't ask someone far away because working together by than is a pain in the ass. I can't ask my friends. Al tough there are some friends in my ICT classes I found out that there level of programming is way too low to join my social network project. I don't want to be mean but I could work with the nerd of my ICT classes but I just don't want to hangout with them...
Is your idea better than others - Hyves - The social network that we in the Netherlands used. (used because we are currently making the transition to Facebook) But still it was a really big social network. But the problem: A lot of things you had to do it manually like they had no "wall", so you had to go to some one else profile and see their activity their. Now a days they have a system "Who? What? Where?" but it just doesn't work out. Twitter - I love it but here are some problems: I just want to tweet something longer than 140 characters, tweets and a profile image that's it (Al though that is the idea of twitter) Facebook - I know that all you Americans are laughing at me now but I don't get it. How does Facebook work? It has some nice functionality but if you are new it's a complicated network. It wouldn't be a problem if someone nearby knows how it works but the problem is that all my friends almost don't know how Facebook works. (Of course we not dumb guys, I'm talking about some parts of the website). And Facebook has some problems to: Privacy issues, sometime no logic (hard if you new), apps that are constantly spamming you. Google+ I don't use it but I know its a big failure. Problems: Facebook rip off which means that there is almost nothing new. Which means why should I change from Facebook with all my friends to got to a social network that is almost (less) the same. Refering to the "Is your idea better than others" again. I want to solve all these problems and create a social network with functionality of all the 4 social networks above. Create a social network that is as easy as Twitter but has the functionality of Facebook and has some parts the same as Hyves and Google+ (because some functionality doesn't exist in Twitter and Facebook while they are handy). I know that you can't put all these things in 1 social network and that's why I'm going to use Apps. You may think Facebook has it too but I mean something else with Apps. I mean it in the way like you mobile phone. You could choose what you want. You could also choose which functionality you want in my social network like Apps on your mobile phone. But it's also working with all the other apps. Something that Facebook and any mobile phone OS not have. But I let them work together how you want. Because Facebook and sure Google+ lets work all (Google+) / some (Facebook) apps together automatically while you don't want some apps to work together (and if you do these stupid things you get like facebook privacy issues). In the beginning it will the Apps will be social related. Later on I will make some apps that are not social related. Because I wan't a social network with (all) the functionality of the whole internet. Image uploading apps, file sharing apps, music apps etc. Conclusion: It will be a Twitter and Facebook mix with apps.
